Single Estate Chianti Classico (Basilica Cafaggio)
The Tasting
A guided note in three moments, by our curators
-
Appearance & Nose
01The Chianti Classico production regulations require this wine to be produced predominantly from Sangiovese, a grape variety that finds authentic, territorial expression here at Cafaggio in Tuscany. In the glass, the red presents an intense ruby hue, heralding its full-bodied character. On the nose, notes of small ripe red berries emerge, integrated with earthy hints and a delicate perfume of dried flowers, a result of maturation.

Palate & Finish
02On the palate, the tannic structure is well-defined but integrated, supported by a pleasant acidity that refreshes the sip.

At the Table
03It pairs magnificently with classic pappa al pomodoro, grilled bistecca alla fiorentina, or braised wild boar.
